Book Law Publications Terms Of Trade

  • VAT Registration

    Book Law Publications is registered in the UK for VAT. Our registration number is: GB 450 0965 63

  • Paying by Credit or Debit Card

    Payment is accepted in UK Pounds Sterling only. Payment can be made online, by telephone, letter or fax using any valid credit or debit card. We currently do not charge a service fee for using this method of payment, however we reserve the right to do so at any future time. Please note the following before placing an order using a credit or debit card:

    We only accept credit/debit cards that show the VISA or MASTERCARD logo. We do NOT accept payment by Switch, Solo or Electron.

    Whether ordering online, by telephone or by post; please give your full name as detailed on your payment card, the address where your payment card is registered (normally your home address), together with your full postal/zip code. If you are using a business payment card, please supply the full name and address of the company including postal/zip code where the card is registered, together with the business telephone number.

    Check the numbers on your card are the same as those given on the order form. We require the card number (long number on the front of the card) together with the commencement and expiry dates. We also require the digits (usually three) shown after your card number on the rear signature strip of the card together with the name of the issuing bank eg Lloyds TSB etc.

    We are only authorised to send goods to the address where you have registered your payment card with your card provider. If you supply a different address to the one registered with your card providor, the transaction will be declined by our processing bank. Goods will not be supplied under any circumstance to a third party, or a third party address.

    All payment card transactions are referred to our processing bank for authorisation before any goods are depatched.

  • Paying by Cheque or Postal Order

    CASH SHOULD NOT BE SENT THROUGH THE POST UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!

    Payment is accepted in pounds sterling only. If placing an order by post, please note the following points before doing so:

    Please print clearly in capital letters your full name and postal address including post code on your order, and on the reverse side of your cheque/postal order.

    Please ensure that all cheques/postal orders are crossed and made payable to Book Law Publications

    Please write your cheque guarantee card number on the reverse side of your cheque together with the cheque guarantee card expiry date and your address as detailed above.

    Please ensure the sum payable written on your cheque in letters is the same as the amount payable in numbers. If they are not the same your cheque will be rejected by our bank and it will be returned to you.

    >Please remember to include the relevant postage and packaging charge.

  • Contact Details & Advice

    >Regardless of payment method, please ensure you supply the following details with all orders to enable us to contact you with any querry/delivery advise:

    1).Home telephone number.
    2).E-mail address (if available). This is our preferred method of contact. Please only supply e-mail addresses you regularly check for messages.
    3).Fax number (if available).

    Please enclose a stamped self addressed envelope (SSAE) with any written enquiry.

    Any advice or recommendation given by Book Law Publications or its employees/helpers is given without liability on its part.

  • Postage & Packaging

    UK CUSTOMERS
    Postage is charged according to order value as follows:

    • Order value under £9.99 postage £2.50.
    • Order value £10.00 to £19.99 postage £2.95.
    • Order value £20.00 to £49.99 postage £3.50.
    • Orders over £50.00 POSTAGE FREE

    All goods are automatically insured at the time of postage to the value of £20.00 UK Sterling on a certificate of postage. Additional insurance is available by checking the 'insurance' box on the order form based upon the value of goods purchased as follows (subject to change according to the terms and conditions of our chosen carrier):

    • Up to £100.00 - 40p.
    • Up to £250.00 - £1.00
    • Up to £500.00 - £2.00.

    Royal Mail's 'Recorded' service is available for an additional 63p for any order irrespective of value. However this does not increase the level of insurance cover from £20.00, it merely requires a signature upon receipt.

    Title to the goods transfers at the time of purchase. It is therfore the responsibility of the buyer/customer to ensure adequate insurance cover is provided. If additional insurance cover is not requested at the point of sale, the goods will be sent at the customers own risk as we assume standard cover of £20.00 is required regardless of order value.

    We cannot be held responsible for any delay howsoever caused in the delivery of goods to the cusomer once they have been accepted by our carrier.

    OVERSEAS CUSTOMERS

    We do not accept Eurocheqes, Travellers Cheques or Cash through the post. Payment will be accepted in UK Pounds Sterling Only. Our webshops adds postage and packaging for UK customers only. Overseas customers should select the 'Overseas' schedule from the drop down menu on the order form. Postage and packaging will be added at cost to your order value at the time of despatch. We recommend (due to potential fraud) that were possible, overseas customers notify their banking organisation of their intention to trade with Book Law Publications before placing an order. All goods are sent by AIRMAIL and are automatically insured. Title to the goods transfers to the buyer/customer at the time of purchase.

  • Delivery Of Goods

    Goods enter the postage system as soon as your funds are cleared and credited to our account. For customers using credit or debit cards your funds become availble once the transaction has met the required criteria of, and been approved by our Merchant Services. For cheque payments, funds become available when your cheque has passed through the bank clearing process. This usually takes on average six working days excluding bank holidays and weekends. Postal Orders are treated as cash. Please note that whilst every effort is made to send the goods as soon as possible, payment will not be taken until the goods are available exstock at Book Law Publications. We reserve the statutary right to send goods within 28 days. Not withstanding delivery and passing the risk, legal and beneficial ownership of the goods shall remain with Sherwood Models until full payment for the goods has been made.

  • Availability of Goods

    All items listed on this site are available at the time of listing.

  • Outstanding Goods Policy

    Any item(s) we are unable to supply at the time of dispatch will be cancelled. We do not operate a back order policy. Customers are advised to re-order at a later date. Please contact us before doing so to check the availability of the item(s).

  • New Release Policy

    All new release for the catalogue year are marked accordingly where possible (E&OE).They are only guidelines as lengthy delays can and do occur. Orders received for new items will be presented for payment only when the goods are in stock. In the event of any new release being oversold, we reserve the right to supply goods to customers upon order of receipt of their initial order i.e. a 'first come first served basis'.

  • Pricing Policy

    Every effort is made to ensure the advertised price is correct on this website (E&OE). We reserve the right to alter, ammend or correct prices at our discretion. If this situation should arise, we will endeavour to notify customers before dispatching goods. We further reserve the absolute right to withdraw from sale, any item offered on our website without prior notice or reason being given. We also reserve the right to refrain from the supply of goods to a customer placing an order without giving reason.

  • Shortages, Damaged/Faulty Goods & Returns Policy

    Any shortage or item found to be damaged or faulty should be reported to Book Law Publications within seven days of receipt in writing. Please follow any specific instruction(s) given when contacting ourselves. Do NOT return goods unless you are specifically requested to do so. A returns number will be issued if required by Book Law Publications. Goods will only be accepted for return with this number. If you are in receipt of damaged/faulty/missing goods, please follow these basic instructions:

    • 1).Make a note of the date and time upon which your damaged/fault goods were received. If the damage is evident after examination upon receipt, immediately inform the carrier and endorse any delivery note (if applicable) as 'Damaged parcel, contents not checked for damage or shortages'. Note the carriers name and badge number if applicable.

    • 2).Note the delivery method ie Royal Mail, Parcel Force or the name of the carrier if not Royal Mail or Parcel Force.

    • 3).Retain all packaging as this may be required by the carrier for any claim made against them.
      We reserve the right to repair, replace or make a refund for damaged or faulty goods.

    This does not affect your statutary rights.

  • Trade Descriptions

    Whilst every effort has been made (E&OE) to ensure accuracy of descriptions, scales/gauges, colours, measurements, release dates, voltages etc, those indicated are approximate and given in good faith from information supplied to ourselves. The goods dispatched may therefore differ from those shown on our site, and are thereby subject to alteration.

    Due to the vast amount of goods offered on this site, it is not possible to upgrade the site on a regular basis. Some items will therefore sell out quickly as they may be in short supply. We therefore advise potential customers to contact us prior to placing an order to ascertain current availability.

  • Internet Fraud

    Book Law Publications use the services and secure server provided by one of the UK's top secure sites. As this service is not provided by Book Law Publications, we cannot assume any responsibility (or part thereof) for online fraud howsoever caused.

  • Copyright

    Where possible Book Law Publications have received written permission from all manufacturers, suppliers and importers to feature on this site logos, images, trademarks and text from their relevant catalogues. We are not authorised to give such permission to any other person. Any person copying information from this site may find themselves in breach of copyright or trademark legislation. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the above companies for use of their material.

  • Cancellation of Order

    Except in special circumstances and then only by written agreement; Book Law Publications will not accept any cancellation of order within 28 days of it being originally placed. Book Law Publications shall be entitled at its discretion to cancel or suspend performance of the contract. This will depend upon the the prevailing situation at the time of order. Book Law Publications shall not be obliged to give a reason for doing so to the customer.

  • TERMS OF TRADE POLICY STATEMENT

    Placing an order on or off line constitutes acceptance and compliance of the above terms of trade governed by the Law of England. If any part of these terms/conditions shall be found to be unlawful it shall not affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining terms/conditions.
